(or I’m showing my age by referencing Toni Kukoc)
I just read an article called “Do You Know Where Croatia Is? Because Nobody Else Does” at the Travel + Leisure website. I’m in the camp of not knowing where it is. The only thing I know about this country is that Toni Kukoc, who played for the Chicago Bulls with Michael Jordan, is from Croatia. Now I’m learning that it is the latest, hottest thing in travel and after seeing some images, it has made it onto my bucket list.
Croatia is located in Europe across the Adriatic Sea from Italy. It is bordered by Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia (I didn’t know Bosnia was called Bosnia and Herzegovina).
I’ve run across images of Croatia and it is an amazingly beautiful country. Who knew? Previously, I’ve said that I am a visual person and I get motivated to travel to countries when I see the beauty that makes up these countries and Croatia is no different. It has now made my bucket list because of images like these:
Croatia has beautiful beaches especially on the Dalmatian Coast, a narrow stretch between Zadar to the Bay of Kotor in Montenegro. These are extremely popular destinations. Incredible, historic architecture can be found in the cities of Dubrovnik and Zagreb, including fantastic churches, cathedrals, and museums.
Plitvice Lakes National Park is Croatia’s Hidden Natural Gem and looks like a place anyone who enjoys nature needs to see.
More travelers are choosing to go to Croatia to avoid the overcrowding of tourism in places like Italy or France. I’ve been to Italy and plan to go back, but I may need to go to Croatia first.
Is Croatia on your bucket list?
